Got home, love, hugs, kisses.
Jordan was getting together his high school baseball uniform for his first scrimmage, which was scheduled for tomorrow. It was so exciting for him (and me). Piece by piece, he cobbled together the many parts of his uniform, including stirrups that the team had agreed to wear. I thought that was pretty old school and that it would look pretty sweet when the whole team is sporting them.
I remember getting the boys’ uniforms together on nights prior to their little league games. I always loved to do that — taking inventory to ensure they had everything they needed in the morning, arranging everything just so. I’d even take a photo of the arrangement to remember those days. I guess it also reminded of me getting ready for games during football season in high school. It was ritualistic — a journey from an ‘everyday’ mindset to ‘gameday’ mentality. They’re very different and the preparation was like a portal through which you needed to pass in order to qualify as a member of the competition.
Anyway, there was no gym tonight, just relaxing. So, after dinner of some leftover chicken cutlets and spaghetti with marinara, I took my computer with me into the boys’ bedroom to hang out with Jordan. He spends a lot of time in his room while the rest of us are out in the living room. And so I often go in his room to chill out with him. He’s quite welcoming of that unless he is Facetiming with his friends, which is totally understandable.
And to round out the night, Rochelle and I squared up some financial administrative stuff (Filed our 2018 taxes) and then watched an episode of Zoo before heading off to bed.
Happy, healthy, infinite love and gratitude!
