By the time I got up for work this morning, at 6:45 AM, Rochelle was already awake and out in the main living area.
She was working on getting homeowners insurance for Jordan‘s new house in Texas.
Around 10 AM, Rochelle took off for New York. Because we’re going to be out here for a while, she wanted to get her textbooks for her class that starts on Monday. She’s also picking up a couple of other things, including the second box of my power cage that was delivered yesterday, and a couple of other things, I think.
Jake got up around 11 and did some things to prepare for his 1 o’clock Theories of Personality Class.
Jake reported the class was just dandy as I continue to work from home in our bedroom.
Around three in the afternoon, Rochelle returned with food from Delizia on 92nd St. and 2nd Ave. in New York City and also the second box holding parts to the power cage that I ordered. I was so excited to start putting it together.
And after having a couple of slices of grandma pizza, Jake and I got straight to work on putting together the power cage down in the basement. We got out all the parts and laid them out so they were easy to see. We had the instructions with us, and we got straight to work.
First came the base with lots of bolt wrenching and tightening. We were methodical and thorough, ensuring that each bolt was properly tightened. We did that for sometime before Jake headed back upstairs and Rochelle came down and helped. We put on the top support bars. And all the while I was taking a time-lapse video, inspired by a similar video on YouTube and people are making something that takes a long time. It’s always cool.
After awhile Rochelle went back upstairs as well and so I finished the lat pulldown and seated row myself, which was not much more effort until it came to the cables. Luckily, both Rochelle and Jake return downstairs to help me out with that.
After getting all the stuff put in its place, we tried it out and it was great. Now we can get back to proper weightlifting. I also sent a video and a couple of pictures to Jordan. He thought it was cool.
As we were finishing, the Yankees were just getting started, but almost immediately they were down 2 to 0, which did not inspire us to watch the rest of the game. Instead, we turned on the second to last episode of Game of Thrones and watched that till about 10 o’clock.
We spoke with Jordan a couple of times today. I instructed him to buy a license to Microsoft Office for his Mac, something he will obviously need for engineering as XL is the standard spreadsheet in the world. He also said 20 of the 48 pledge class tested positive for Covid so far. But the University of Texas overall has reported only 27 cases because that’s how many live in on-campus housing. Amazing, but smart.
Happy, healthy, infinite love and gratitude!
